Bismillahi Ar-Rahmani Ar-Rahim,

In Islam, some of the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad, suggest that the Euphrates will dry up, revealing unknown treasures that will be the cause of strife and war.

*Soon the river Euphrates will disclose the treasure [the mountain] of gold. So, whoever will be present at that time should not take anything of it. — Sahih Bukhari.

*The Prophet Muhammad (saas) said: “The Hour will not come to pass before the river Euphrates dries up to unveil the mountain of gold, for which people will fight. Ninety-nine out of one hundred will die [in the fighting], and every man among them will say: ‘Perhaps I may be the only one to remain alive’.” — Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim.

*The Prophet Muhammad (saas) said: “The Euphrates reveals the treasures within itself. Whoever sees it should not take anything from it”. — Al-Muttaqi al-Hindi, Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p. 28.

*It [the Euphrates] will uncover a mountain of gold [under it]. — Sunan Abi Da’ud.

————————————

I remembered those Hadiths when I watched a report on the TV about the rivers of Iraq, and this report stated that the two rivers are expected to DRY in 2040 (i.e. 31 years from now). And here is what I found on the Internet about this report:

Tigris, Euphrates Could Be Dry By 2040

According to a report prepared by an international research organization, the quantity of water in the Euphrates basin will be 32 billion cubic meters in 2040, of which 30 billion cubic meters will be consumed by Turkey and Syria – leaving Iraq with hardly any water for agriculture and drinking.

Most recent measurement indicates that Iraq has received 5.7 billion cubic meters of water, which is 42% of its needs.

Turkey is completing its giant Ataturk Dam on the Euphrates as a part of its “Ghad” program, to build altogether 22 dams.

On the other hand, the European Water Authority has indicated that, in light of Turkish water policy, the other major Iraqi river, the Tigris, will go completely dry also by 2040.

Unless Iraq can reach an agreement with Turkey on a fair share of water, Iraq will face a real disaster of complete desertification in the next 30-35 years.

This report spoke about this fact regardless other circumstances that might hasten the drying of the rivers, such as global warming,  more dams, or anything else.

You must also know that the Euphrates river already has gold in its bottom, and if you do not believe it, watch this video:

These are Iraqi people searching for gold in their rivers.

And probably this will cause the overwhelming massacre that will happen in Arabs, as mentioned in the following article: http://anikah.wordpress.com/2009/03/22/the-overwhelming-massacre-that-is-waiting-for-arabs/

China bans Friday prayers in Urumqi

The government has ordered mosques closed and Friday prayers cancelled [EPA]

Chinese authorities have cancelled Friday Muslim prayers in Urumqi amid security concerns as troops try to keep control following days of deadly unrest in the city.

Mosques were ordered closed on Friday in the regional capital of China’s Xinjiang region, an unnamed Chinese official said, adding that the decision had been made for public safety.

Several mosques throughout an overwhelmingly Uighur bazaar district of Urumqi displayed notices announcing the suspension of the usual prayers on Friday, the main day of worship for Muslims.

“Under instructions from superiors, normal prayer will be suspended from today,” said a notice dated Wednesday posted at the gateway of the nearby Guyuan mosque.

“Anybody wishing to pray … please do so at home.”

Streets quiet

The move comes in the wake of ethnic violence between Han Chinese and Muslim Uighurs that has left more than 150 people dead since Sunday in the region’s worst ethnic violence in decades.Al Jazeera’s Melissa Chan, reporting from Urumqi, said the situation appeared to be back to normal on Friday although thousands of soldiers remained in the city, most of them stationed at mosques.

Our correspondent said state media continued to emphasise the importance of both Han Chinese and minorities working together, and commended soldiers for successfully bringing the situation under control.

Allah (swt) created this life and subjected it to a specific system from which it cannot deviate. He (swt) said:

“And the system of Allah will not be altered.”

[Qur'an Al-Ahzab:62]

“And the system of Allah will not be changed.”

[Qur'an Al-Israa':77]

Part of this system is the struggle between the Truth (Al-Haqq) and Falsehood (Al-Batil). Never will the Haqq tolerate the Batil, nor will the Batil ever accept the Haqq. The struggle is continuous and ever-lasting and may take various forms, ranging from intellectual to physical or political.

A quick look at the Seerah of Prophet Muhammad (saws) shows that he struggled against the Batil. In Makkah, he (saws) was invalidating their beliefs and ridiculing their value system and culture with no fear or compromise. In fact, all the prophets and messengers carried this mentality and followed this procedure, and, as a result, every prophet and messenger was opposed by the Kufr surrounding him. In Madinah, when Muhammad (saws) established the Islamic State, it was used as a platform for carrying Islam to other nations and challenging the Kufr systems and ways of life with the Islamic world order. The Prophet (saws) was continuously interacting with other nations with the intent of making the Haqq supreme over all other ways of life.

This struggle continued immediately after his death. The Muslim Ummah struggled against other nations, be they idolaters, Persians, Romans, Tatars, Moguls, Crusaders, or Communists. Today, the Ummah is still struggling against the Secular Capitalist nations. Therefore, struggling between the Ummah of Islam and other nations is a natural occurrence due to the fact that the Muslim Ummah’s fundamental task is to carry the Islamic Da’wah to the world as a creed from which a comprehensive system emanate. Such a task mandates that the Ummah challenge the ideas of Kufr and exposes their invalidity for the purpose of making Allah’s system and ideology the supreme ideology for all humanity. Thus, the fundamental task of the Ummah defacto will be to engage itself in a struggle between Islam and Kufr, between the Haqq and the Batil.

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

American and British forces have jointly launched operations in Helmand province, south Afghanistan. This is in a time that during the past eighth years, never a day has passed or a night without Mujahideen sustaining great losses on the enemy. However, this time, they have resorted to launching vast operations. Yet it is but an effort in fiasco. Their advancement has been blocked and neutralized. They are just frustrating. This is not a mere claim made by us.

The New York times reporter from Lashkar Gah, the center of Helmand province, writes that operation in Helmand is not a new phenomenon; it is carried out on daily basis for the last eight years. But these operations have not spelled out any result. The New York times reporter says that the current operation will not achieve the desired target because people of Helmand are nearing a stage of populous upheaval. This has made the environment invincible for the American troops as they are trying to engage Taliban. On the basis of his report, even villagers and farmers have taken up arms against the invading army in some district of Helmand province.

Sabr ( Patience )

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem

By Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah.

An abridgement of his original work entitled, “Uddat as-Sâbireen wa Dhâkirat by TaHa Publications

The Definition of Patience

Sabr is an Arabic word which comes from a root meaning to detain, refrain and stop. There is an expression in Arabic, “so-and-so was killed sabran,” which means that he was captured and detained until he died. In the spiritual sense, patience means to stop ourselves from despairing and panicking, to stop our tongues from complaining, and to stop our hands from striking our faces and tearing our clothes at times of grief and stress.

What scholars have said about patience
Some scholars have defined patience as a good human characteristic or a positive psychological attitude, by virtue of which we refrain from doing that which is not good. Human beings cannot live a proper, healthy life without patience.

Abu ‘Uthman said: “the one who has patience is the one who has trained himself to handle difficulties.”

‘Amr ibn ‘Uthman al-Makki said: “Patience means to keep close to Allah and to accept calmly the trials He sends, without complaining or feeling sad.”

Al-Khawwas said: “Patience means to adhere to the rules of the Qur’an and Sunnah.”

Another scholar said: “Patience means to refrain from complaining.”

Ali ibn Abi Talib said: “Patience means to seek Allah’s help.”

Is it better to have patience at a time of difficulty, or to be in a situation which does not require patience?
Abu Muhammad al-Hariri said: “Patience means not seeing any difference between times of ease and times of hardship, and being content at all times.” I (Ibn Qayyim) say: This is too difficult, and we are not instructed to be like this. Allah has created us in such a way that we feel the difference between times of ease and times of hardship, and all that we can do is refrain from panicking at times of stress. Patience does not mean feeling the same at both easy and difficult times. That is beyond us, and is not part of our nature. Having an easy time is better for us than having a difficult time. As the Prophet (SAAS) said in his well-known du’a: “If You are not angry with me, then I do not care what happens to me, but still I would rather have Your blessings and favour.” This does not contradict the hadith which says, “No-one has ever been given a better gift than patience,” because that refers to after a test or trial has befallen a person. But ease is still better.

The human rights edition Prague Watchog has published an interview with Emir of the Caucasus Emirate Dokka Abu Usman. The editorial says that interview was taken by telephone. Kavkaz Center publishes this interview according to text on human rights website. The audio file of the interview has not yet been posted on the net.

Prague Watchdog: Some time ago there were reports that you had been wounded, and some even had you dead and buried. Were you wounded?

Dokka Umarov: No, I wasn’t. The last time was in 1995, when I received a leg wound.

PW: At the end of April the Kavkaz-Center website published a video in which you announced the decision to revive the “Riyad-us-Saliheen” brigade that was created by Shamil Basayev. The French President Sarkozy told a gathering of policy-makers on June 20 that the Islamic veil was a symbol of slavery and humiliation. He told them that he was not going to tolerate Muslims women being kept in a net from now on. He went on to say that Muslim women in France should end wearing veil.

First of all, it is worth mentioning to say that the animosity of the West and ,by extension of Mr. Sarkozy, is not originating from his amiable and benevolent emotions by thinking that the Muslim women feel uneasy in the Islamic veil. Never a Muslim women has felt nervous and disturbed by wearing the veil. They do not consider it as a burden, but they see it as a symbol of protection, respect and honor. That is why, these women are not ready to give up the Islamic veil. Continue Reading »

The importance of the prayer in Islam cannot be understated. It is the first pillar of Islam that the Prophet (peace be upon him) mentioned after mentioning the testimony of faith, by which one becomes a Muslim. It was made obligatory upon all the prophets and for all peoples. Allah has declared its obligatory status under majestic circumstances. For example, when Allah spoke directly to Moses, He said,

“And I have chosen you, so listen to that which is inspired to you. Verily, I am Allah! There is none worthy of worship but I, so worship Me and offer prayer perfectly for My remembrance.” [Taha 13-14]

Similarly, the prayers were made obligatory upon the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) during his ascension to heaven. Furthermore, when Allah praises the believers, such as in the beginning of surah al-Muminoon, one of the first descriptions He states is their adherence to the prayers.

The state of repentance, tawbah, is at the beginning, the middle and the end of all states of submission to the will of Allah. The servant who seeks the pleasure of Allah never abandons tawbah. He remains in the state of tawbah until his death. Whatever his state of belief, the servant makes tawbah his constant companion. Thus, tawbah is at the beginning and at the end of his servitude to his Creator. His need for tawbah at the end, just as at the beginning, overrides, and supersedes all other needs.

Allah says:

“And turn to Allah altogether (make tawbah), O you who believe so that you may succeed,” (24:31)

The verse above is contained within a Madinan Surah (revealed after the migration to Madinah), in which Allah addresses the people of emaan, who are the best of His creation. He calls upon them to make tawbah “turn in repentance” to Him after they had already believed, gone through hardships, trials of faith, executed patience, migrated and performed jihad. Allah then made success conditional on perfecting such tawbah, as the effect is often conditional on the cause. No one can hope for success, except: those who make tawbah. Allah says: “And those who do not make tawbah are indeed the dhaalimoon (wrongdoers).” (49:11)

Praise be to Allaah.

Jihaad against the kuffaar by fighting is not obligatory for women, but they must make jihaad by calling others to the truth (da’wah) and teaching them about Islam, within the limits that will protect them and wearing the clothes that cover their ‘awrah. They should not mix with non-mahram men or speak in soft voices or be alone with non-mahram men. Allaah said concerning the wives of the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him):

“And remember (O you members of the Prophet’s family), the Graces of your Lord), that which is recited in your houses of the Verses of Allaah and Al-Hikmah (i.e. Prophet’s Sunnah)” [al-Ahzaab 33:34]

It was reported that ‘Aa’ishah (may Allaah be pleased with her) said: I said, O Messenger of Allaah, do women have to do any kind of jihaad? He said, “Yes, they have to do the kind of jihaad in which there is no fighting: Hajj and ‘Umrah.” (Reported by Ahmad, 6/68; Ibn Maajah, 2/968).

It was also reported that she said: O Messenger of Allaah, we see that jihaad is the best of deeds. Can we not engage in jihaad? He said, “But the best of jihaad is an accepted Hajj.” (Narrated by Ahmad, 6/67’ al-Bukhaari, 2/141).

And Allaah is the Source of strength. May Allaah bless our Prophet Muhammad and his family and companions, and grant them peace.

Returning to Allah

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem

Prophet Musa (alayhis salam) led the elders and men, the women and children of Bani Israa’eel to the mouth of the raging sea. With nothing to defend themselves, they turned back to see Fir’own, furious, and his henchmen – blades sheathed – racing towards them. They cried to Musa – as recorded in the Qur’an:

“They companions of Musa said, “Indeed, they shall catch us!””
    [Surah Shu’ara, 26: 61]

But Musa (alayhis salam) knew that Allah would not allow the Da’wah to be wiped away and annihilated. Allah recorded Musa (alayhis salam)’s reply which radiated with the Iman of a Prophet and Messenger:
“(Musa) said, “Nay! Indeed my Lord is with me, and He will guide me!””

    Immediately, Allah (ta’ala) commanded Musa:
“Then We inspired Musa: Strike with your staff the sea, and it parted – each portion like a great towering mountain. And We advanced thereto the others (i.e. the pursuers). And We saved Musa and those with him, all together. Then We drowned the others…When Fir’own slipped out of the sea and ached with the pangs of death, he said: “I believe that there is no deity except that in whom Banu Israa’eel, and I am of those that submit.””

Ibn Abbas narrates that on the day that Fir’oun slipped out of the sea, and knowing that death loomed, Jibreel came to him and began kicking dirt into his face and mouth, for fear that Fir’own would plead for the Mercy of Allah, and he would be granted it.

But as Allah revealed to Fir’own and those who would wait till the gargling of the soul to do Tawbah:
“Now?! And you had disobeyed (him) before and were of the corrupters?”
    [Surah Yunus: 91 - From Tafseer At-Tabari]

Istighfar means to seek forgiveness from Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) with ones tongue and heart. Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) informs us:

From the tape Wasaayaa lil-Mujaahideen (”Advice for the Mujaahideen“) — al-Imaam Aboo Mus’ab az-Zarqaawee

O Mujaahidoon!

You have sold your souls to Allaah (عزّ وجلّ), so you have no option before you save to hand over the merchandise to He who purchased it:

{Indeed, Allaah has purchased from the faithful their lives and their wealth for that they will have Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allaah, so they kill and are killed. A true promise [binding] upon Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur’aan. And who is truer to his covenant than Allaah ? So rejoice in your transaction which you have contracted. And it is that which is the great attainment.} (at-Tawbah : 111)

And when the merchandise is received by the purchaser, then He may do with it as He wills; and He may place it where He wills.

So if He wills, He places it in a palace;
And if He wills, He places it in a prison;
And if He wills, He dresses it with the most glorious clothes;
And if He wills, He leaves it naked save for what covers its privacy;
And if He wills, He makes it wealthy;
And if He wills, He makes it poor and needy;
And if He wills, He hangs it at the gallows,
Or grants its enemy power over it, so he kills it or mutilates it.

How to Lower our Gaze

Bismillah Ar-Rahman Ar-Raheem

Sabeel Ahmed

“If I were not a Muslim, I would have contracted AIDS!” proclaimed my friend. “The ayahs in Sura Nur about lowering our gazes doesn’t affect me anymore”, expressed another youth, talking about the intense temptations felt by today’s youth. Difficulty in lowering the gaze by both the young and old is readily perceived on the street, weddings, parties and even in the Masjids.

What has gone wrong with our Ummah? Us Muslims, called by Allah, our Creator, as the best Ummah, Model Community, custodians of Truth and the Upholders of Morality behaving in this way? Why are we adopting the attitudes and routes of the Kuffar? How can we rectify ourselves?

What follows are a series of practical, though graphic advice which can work for us and set us free from Satan’s stronghold, insha Allah.

Prophet Muhammad, Sallallhu alayhi wa sallam, by way of warning and as a reminder said: “I have not left a fitnah (trial, calamity or cause for calamity) after me more than (the fitnah) with women for men” (Bukhari and Muslim). Also was related by our Prophet : “The world is sweet and verdant, and Allah having put you in it in your turn watches how you act; so fear the world and fear women, for the first trial of the Bani israel had to do with women” (Muslim)

Supplication is a Cure

Bismillahi Ar-Rahmani Ar-Rahim

Supplication is from the most beneficial types of healing, it is the enemy of illness and affliction – repressing it and treating it, preventing its occurrence, removing it or at least alleviating it. It is the weapon of the believer as is reported by al-Haakim in his ‘Mustadrak’ from the hadeeth of Alee bin Abee Taalib (RA) from the Messenger of Allaah sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam that he said, “Supplication is the weapon of the believer, the pillar of the religion, and the light of the heaven and earth.” (Abu Ya`laa)

Supplication takes one of three positions against illness:

* It is stronger than the illness and therefore represses it.
* It is weaker than the illness and therefore the illness overcomes it and afflicts the servant, however it is still possible that it alleviate the illness.
* That they be of equal strength and prevent each other from happening in the servant.

Question:

What is the ruling on Islamic nasheeds that are free of music?

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

The clear saheeh texts indicate in a number of ways that it is permissible to recite poetry and listen to it. It was narrated in saheeh reports that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and his noble Companions (may Allaah be pleased with them) listened to verse, recited it (as nasheed) and asked others to recite it, both when they were travelling and when they stayed at home, in their gatherings and whilst they were working, individually, as in the case of Hassaan ibn Thaabit, ‘Aamir ibn al-Akwa’ and Anjashah (may Allaah be pleased with them), and in unison, as in the hadeeth of Anas (may Allaah be pleased with him) which describes the digging of the ditch (al-khandaq). Anas said:

When the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) saw how exhausted and hungry we were, he said (in verse):

“O Allaah, there is no life except the life of the Hereafter, so forgive the Ansaar and the Muhaajireen.”

We have got used to watching a Sheikh, appearing on one of the aired channels every once a while and insulting the Mujahideen, perverting the reality for the people and trying to show falsehood over reality or some experts of Islamic universities trying to decipher the cause of the martyrdom operations linking it to the worsening economic situations!

But the latest pop up by the “Arabiya” channel has been the coming of psychological experts to explain the psychological condition of those who perform these operations!

Of course I agree with everybody that the Arabiya channel hasn’t been set up except to spoil the image of jihad that has started threatening and shaking the thrones of the potbellies in the area, but I will differ with everyone in another matter and that is that Arabiya has a great favour on the Mujahideen! Instead it has served jihad more than Sahab productions itself! But how?

“It is an assault on an Islamic place. It could ignite violence because the visit provokes the feelings of Muslims,” said Mufti Hussein

The Pentagon has denied it has any military operations under way in Pakistan [AP]

Up to 60 people have been killed after missiles were fired from a US “drone” at the funeral of a suspected Taliban commander of the Pakistani Taliban in South Waziristan, Pakistan officials have said.

The attack by the unmanned aircraft was carried out in the village of Najmarai in the Makeen district on Tuesday, Pakistani intelligence officials and witnesses said.

“Three missiles were fired by drones as people were dispersing after offering funeral prayers for [Taliban commander] Niaz Wali,” an intelligence official told the Reuters news agency.

“I saw three drones, they dropped bombs,” Sohail Mehsud, a resident of Makeen, said.

The Most High said:

“…And We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good…” (al-Anbiyaa` 21:35)

And Glory be to Him, said:

“Alif-Laam-Meem. Do people think that they will be left alone because they say: ‘We have faith’, and will not be tested? And We indeed tested those who were before them. And Allah will certainly make known, those who are true, and will certainly make known those who are liars.” (al-‘Ankaboot 29:1-3)

And Glory be to Him, said:

“…And We tried them with good and evil in order that they might turn (to Allah’s obedience).” (al-A’raaf 7:168)

al-‘Allaama Ibnul-Qayyim – may Allah have mercy upon him – said: It is a must that a man is afflicted with that which harms him, so no one at all is free from that which harms him. This is why Allah the Most High has mentioned at various places in His Book that it is a must that He afflicts people. And the trial happens with goodness and with badness, and it is a must that a man is afflicted with which makes him happy and that which hurts him. So he is required to be patient and thankful (to Allah).

A Return to Tawheed

Bismillahi Ar-Rahmani Ar-Rahim

Umm Muhammad

Realities of Faith
1994 Abul-Qasim Publishing House

The kalimah (word) of tawheed, ‘La ilaha ill-Allah” came to correct belief – not only that of the ancient polytheists, but of all men up until the Day of Judgement. It testifies that there is no divinity except Allah none other than Him and none along with Him. None is similar to Him, none creates and sustains except Him, and none has the right to govern creation but Him. The concept of tawheed necessarily overflows into all aspects of belief and worship into all aspects of life.Whether he recognizes it or not, man is totally indebted to his Creator for his continuing existence hour by hour, not to mention such blessings as his many possessions and abilities. Knowing that Allah alone is the Creator, the Sustainer, the Provider, the Controller, the source of all benefit and harm in whose hands is the Judgement and the final destination of men requires through common sense and reason that He alone be worshipped.

Thousands flee Mogadishu fighting

Somalia’s president, Sharif Ahmed, has declared a state of emergency amid the rising violence [AFP]

Thousands of people have fled the Somali capital Mogadishu amid escalating fighting between government forces and opposition fighters after the country’s president declared a state of emergency.

Fierce street clashes have already claimed hundreds of lives and the government has called on neighbouring African countries to send troops to help it battle al-Shabaab fighters.

Two legislators have also been killed in the last two days of fighting and last week al-Shabab claimed responsiblity for the death of the country’s security minister and at least 30 other people in a suicide car bomb attack.

At the weekend Sheikh Aden Mohamed Madobe, the parliament speaker, urged neighbouring countries to send troops to his country to prop up the government.

“We want them to come here within 24 hours,” he said at a parliament meeting in the capital.
